Workshop:
Understanding the Megawatt Charging System

Identifying Gaps and Opportunities for the Marine Industry

This marks the second workshop in a series tailored for marine industry representatives, high-power electric charging professionals, marine industry electrification experts, electrification standards groups, and government stakeholders. We aim to further discussions on marine electrification and the global high-power charging standard, leveraging the Megawatt Charging Standard (MCS).

The workshop intends to establish a foundational understanding of MCS, pinpoint gaps and opportunities across operational, technical, and regulatory domains for marine MCS, and foster consensus for international collaboration. The workshop series focuses on commercial, DC fast charging for battery-driven marine vessels, with an emphasis on short-haul journeys like ferries, tugs, freshwater bulkers, river cruises, and offshore vessels.
