CharIN's Steering Committee Visits Phoenix Contact

The last CharIN Steering Committee meeting on September 25, 2024 was hosted by the Steering Committee and founding member Phoenix Contact E-Mobility GmbH in Blomberg, Germany.

The agenda was packed with interesting discussions on the developments in our Focus Groups and technical working groups, ongoing CharIN Academy activities and projects, the preparation of the General Assembly, as well as the first work plan for 2025.

In addition, Erika has dialed in to give insights from CharIN Inc. and the latest news about the North American market.

After the lunch break the Steering Committee had the opportunity to visit the All Electric Society Park from Phoenix Contact, where interactive stations showcase the many ways renewable energy can be generated, converted, stored, distributed, and used. To do this, Phoenix Contact uses both self-generated green electricity and heat energy from heat pumps and conversion processes.

What is the All Electric Society?

In the All Electric Society, only renewably-generated electrical energy is used. However, these sustainable actions do not automatically mean doing without. Instead, it is a matter of using existing resources optimally and making them available equally to everyone in the world.
This is made possible by sector coupling: the linking of all relevant areas of life and work – mobility, energy, infrastructure, and industry – to form one system. In this system, the energy is distributed automatically in accordance with demand. This ensures that it is always available where it is needed.

A big thank you to Phoenix Contact E-Mobility GmbH and our SC member Michael Heinemann for hosting the meeting!
